Morning Prayer for Success and Favour
30 Powerful Prayers to Activate God’s Blessing

The most dangerous belief a believer can hold about success is that it comes primarily from their own effort. It does not. Genesis 39:3 records the secret behind Joseph’s extraordinary success: his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did. Not some things. Not the big things. Everything he did. The determining factor was not Joseph’s talent, his qualifications or his strategy. It was the presence of God. These 30 morning prayers will help you begin every day in that same presence and access that same success-producing, door-opening, destiny-advancing favour of God.
Genesis 39:2–3 · Psalm 5:12 · Deuteronomy 28:2 · Proverbs 3:3–4 · Ruth 2:10
The Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. When his master saw that the Lord was with him and that the Lord gave him success in everything he did, his master was well pleased with him and made him his attendant. Genesis 39:2 to 4 (NIV)
Genesis 39:2 to 4 is one of the most instructive passages in all of Scripture on the subject of success. Joseph was a slave. He had no rights, no natural advantages and no human advocate in a foreign country. Every external indicator pointed toward failure. And yet verse 2 says the Lord was with Joseph so that he prospered. The verb used for prospered in the Hebrew is tsalach, which means to advance, to succeed, to make progress. The Lord caused Joseph to advance in the most unfavourable circumstances imaginable.
But the text reveals something even more significant than Joseph’s success. Verse 3 says his master saw that the Lord was with him. An unbelieving Egyptian slave owner, with no knowledge of the God of Israel, looked at Joseph and recognised the supernatural source of his success. He did not say Joseph is very talented. He said the Lord gave him success in everything he did. The favour of God was so visible on Joseph’s life that even those who did not know God could see it.
Psalm 5:12 describes this favour as a covering: surely, Lord, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favour as with a shield. A shield surrounds on every side. It covers the front where you can see danger coming and the back where you cannot. Divine favour is not selective protection in the areas you remember to pray about. It is comprehensive, all-directional covering that God wraps around those who seek Him. Deuteronomy 28:2 adds the velocity: all these blessings will come on you and overtake you. Overtake. The blessings are faster than you.
These 30 morning prayers for success and favour are not requests for God to make you wealthy at the expense of your character or successful at the expense of your integrity. They are prayers rooted in the principle of Genesis 39: that when the Lord is with you, success follows in everything you do. Seek the Lord first. His presence produces the favour. His favour produces the success. And the success produced by His favour glorifies Him in ways that self-made success never could.

HOW TO USE THESE MORNING PRAYERS FOR SUCCESS AND FAVOUR Pray these 30 prayer points every morning before you begin your day. They are organised in 5 sections of 6 points each. Section 1 is the most important because it establishes the spiritual foundation on which genuine success is built: seeking God first. Never skip Section 1. The order matters. Matthew 6:33 says seek first and all these things will be added. The seeking must come first. Then the adding follows. Pray these prayers specifically for your career, your business, your relationships and every area where you are believing God for success.
OPENING PRAYER – BEFORE YOU BEGIN Father, before I pursue success today I pursue You. Before I ask for favour with people I ask for Your presence. Let the Lord be with me today in the same way the Lord was with Joseph, visibly, powerfully and productively, so that everyone I interact with can see that something divine is at work in my life. In the name of Jesus. Amen!
SECTION 1: SEEKING GOD FIRST – THE FOUNDATION OF TRUE SUCCESS Matthew 6:33 and Joshua 1:8 and Proverbs 3:5 to 6
ADMONITION BEFORE YOU PRAY: Matthew 6:33 is the sequence that every morning prayer for success must begin with: seek first His kingdom and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. The seeking of God must come first. Not as a religious prerequisite to unlock the blessing. But as the very activity that produces the presence of God in your life which is itself the source of the success. Joshua 1:8 makes this connection explicit: keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. The prosperity and success in Joshua 1:8 were the product of a life completely saturated in God’s Word and God’s ways. The favour you are about to pray for flows from the foundation you are about to lay in this first section.
Prayer Points 1 to 6
1. Father, I seek You first this morning before I seek anything else according to Matthew 6:33! Before success. Before favour. Before any human blessing. I seek Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Let everything else I need be added in its proper order to a life that begins every morning with You as the first priority, in Jesus’ name!
2. Lord, let Your Word be always on my lips today according to Joshua 1:8! Let me meditate on it. Let it govern my decisions. Let it shape my words, my attitudes and my actions. And let the prosperity and success that Joshua 1:8 promises be the natural outcome of a day that is Word-directed from morning to evening, in Jesus’ name!
3. Father, I trust in You with all my heart today and I lean not on my own understanding according to Proverbs 3:5 to 6. In all my ways I acknowledge You. And I receive Your promise to make my paths straight. Every path toward success that I walk today, You are making straight before I arrive at it, in Jesus’ name!
4. Lord, write love and faithfulness on the tablet of my heart today according to Proverbs 3:3 to 4. Let me be a person of genuine integrity in every interaction. Let my character be the foundation on which my success is built so that when the success comes, it is sustainable and God-glorifying, in Jesus’ name!
5. Father, let my soul prosper today so that everything around me prospers according to 3 John 1:2. Inner prosperity producing outer success. Let the Word I am reading, the prayer I am praying and the faith I am exercising this morning produce a quality of soul prosperity that flows outward into every dimension of my life today, in Jesus’ name!
6. I declare that the Lord is with me today as the Lord was with Joseph! Not beside me as an observer. With me as the active Agent of my success. Let every person who interacts with me today sense that something divine is operating in my life. Let the favour of God be as visible on me as it was on Joseph in Potiphar’s house, in Jesus’ name!
SECTION 2: ACTIVATING DIVINE FAVOUR IN YOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND CAREER Psalm 5:12 and Esther 2:17 and Luke 2:52
ADMONITION BEFORE YOU PRAY: Favour with people is one of the most practically significant dimensions of success and yet it is one that most believers either take for granted or attribute entirely to personality and social skill. The Bible consistently presents favour as a divine gift. Esther 2:17 records that the king was attracted to Esther more than to any of the other women and she won his grace and favour. In a situation where hundreds of women were competing for the same position, Esther’s favour was not the product of superior beauty or superior strategy. God’s hand was on her. Luke 2:52 records that Jesus grew in favour with God and with man simultaneously. The vertical relationship fed the horizontal impact. When you pray for favour with the people in your career, your business and your relationships, you are asking God to do for you what He did for Esther and for Jesus.
Prayer Points 7 to 12
7. Father, surround me with Your favour as with a shield today according to Psalm 5:12! Let it cover every angle. Let it go before me into every room I enter. Let it prepare my reception before I arrive. And let every person I interact with today be predisposed toward me with a favour they cannot fully explain, in Jesus’ name!
8. Lord, let me grow in favour with God and with man today according to Luke 2:52! Let my relationship with You produce a quality of grace and attractiveness in my human interactions that goes beyond my natural personality. Let people be drawn to work with me, to help me and to open doors for me because they sense something of God on my life, in Jesus’ name!
9. Father, let divine favour operate in every conversation I have today. In the meeting where I need a yes, let favour create it. In the negotiation where I need flexibility, let favour produce it. In the relationship where I need grace, let favour generate it. Let favour do in one conversation what years of effort could not accomplish, in Jesus’ name!
10. I pray for favour with my employer, my clients and every person who holds authority over my career. Let them see value in me that justifies promotion, increase and greater responsibility. Let their decision about my career align with God’s plan for my destiny rather than with their natural preference or budget, in Jesus’ name!
11. Father, let me be like Esther before the king today: finding grace and favour beyond all the others in the room. In every competitive situation I face today, let divine favour distinguish me not through self-promotion but through the unmistakable quality of God’s hand on my life and work, in Jesus’ name!
12. I declare that favour is following me today! Into my first interaction and my last. Into the planned meetings and the unexpected encounters. Into the situations I prepared for and the ones I did not see coming. The favour of God is my constant companion today wherever this day takes me, in Jesus’ name!
May the favour of the Lord our God rest on us; establish the work of our hands for us – yes, establish the work of our hands. Psalm 90:17 (NIV)
SECTION 3: PRAYING FOR BUSINESS SUCCESS AND FINANCIAL BREAKTHROUGH Deuteronomy 28:8 and Psalm 90:17 and Proverbs 16:3
ADMONITION BEFORE YOU PRAY: Deuteronomy 28:8 contains one of the most specific financial promises in the entire Torah: the Lord will send a blessing on your barns and on everything you put your hand to. The barns represent storage, accumulated wealth and the capacity to hold more than immediate need requires. Everything you put your hand to means there is no legitimate business activity excluded from this blessing. Psalm 90:17 adds the dimension of establishment: establish the work of our hands. The Hebrew word kun means to make firm, to make stable, to give permanence. When God establishes your work, it does not just succeed temporarily. It stands. It builds. It accumulates. It produces results that outlast the effort that produced them. These are the prayers that activate those promises over your specific business and financial activity every morning.

Prayer Points 13 to 18
13. Father, send Your blessing on everything I put my hands to today according to Deuteronomy 28:8! Every task, every transaction, every project and every interaction that involves my work or my business today, let the blessing of God rest on it. Let what I touch today bear fruit, in Jesus’ name!
14. Lord, establish the work of my hands today according to Psalm 90:17! Let what I build be permanent. Let what I produce be impactful. Let what I invest be fruitful. And let the results of my work today accumulate into something that still stands and still matters long after the workday is over, in Jesus’ name!
15. Father, let my business ideas be divinely inspired today. Let creative solutions come to me. Let innovative approaches to old problems surface in my thinking. Let the wisdom of God flow through my business strategy so that what I build is not just commercially sound but divinely directed, in Jesus’ name!
16. I pray for financial breakthrough in my business this week. Let new clients arrive, let contracts be signed, let income channels open and let the revenue of my business this month reflect the blessing of the God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10). My business is in His hands and He is blessing it, in Jesus’ name!
17. Father, let the right business connections and partnerships find me today. Let me meet the person who carries what my business needs at exactly the right moment. Let divine appointments produce business relationships that advance my work and my calling simultaneously, in Jesus’ name!
18. I declare that my business is not built on human cleverness alone. It is built on the blessing of God. Proverbs 10:22 says the blessing of the Lord brings wealth without painful toil. Let the blessing that produces sustainable, joyful, God-glorifying wealth be active over my business from this morning forward, in Jesus’ name!
SECTION 4: DECLARING GOD’S BLESSING OVER EVERY VENTURE AND EFFORT Genesis 39:23 and Nehemiah 2:20 and 2 Chronicles 20:20
ADMONITION BEFORE YOU PRAY: Genesis 39:23 is the climactic statement of Joseph’s career in the prison: the warden paid no attention to anything under Joseph’s care because the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did. The setting is a prison. The circumstances are unjust. The human prospects are zero. And yet whatever he did succeeded. The success was not conditional on the quality of the environment. It was conditional on the presence of God. Nehemiah 2:20 records Nehemiah’s response to opposition: the God of heaven will give us success. Not the most favourable political environment. Not the most powerful human backing. The God of heaven. When your success is sourced in God rather than in circumstances, opposition cannot stop it, because what God has determined to succeed will succeed regardless of who or what opposes it.
Prayer Points 19 to 24
19. Father, give me success in whatever I do today according to the pattern of Genesis 39:23! Not in the best circumstances only. In whatever circumstances. Let the presence of God with me be the constant that produces success regardless of how the external environment looks, in Jesus’ name!
20. I declare with Nehemiah: the God of heaven will give me success (Nehemiah 2:20)! Not the most favourable market conditions. Not the most powerful human connections. The God of heaven. My success has a Source that transcends every natural limitation and every human opposition, in Jesus’ name!
21. Father, let me be established today because I believe in You according to 2 Chronicles 20:20! Let my faith be the activator of the success You have ordained. I choose to believe Your promises this morning. I choose to trust Your character. And I receive the establishment and success that belief produces, in Jesus’ name!
22. I pray against every spirit of failure, every assignment of futility and every demonic resistance to my success. What God has ordained to succeed cannot be permanently stopped by what the enemy has planned to fail. I cancel every satanic assignment against my work, my business and my career today by fire, in Jesus’ name!
23. Father, let every venture I launch today have the favour of God on it from the moment it begins. Let the early momentum of every project carry the unmistakable mark of divine assistance. Let what I start today have a conclusion that exceeds the expectation I had when I started it, in Jesus’ name!
24. I declare that the blessings of God are overtaking me today according to Deuteronomy 28:2! I am not chasing the blessing. The blessing is chasing me. I am not running toward favour. Favour is running toward me. The blessings are faster than my movement and they are catching me right now, in Jesus’ name!
SECTION 5: SEALING YOUR DAY WITH DECLARATIONS OF FAVOUR AND SUCCESS Psalm 118:25 and Numbers 6:24 to 26 and Romans 8:37
ADMONITION BEFORE YOU PRAY: Psalm 118:25 is one of the boldest prayers for success in the entire Psalter: Lord, save us! Lord, grant us success! The psalmist is not being vague. He is asking God specifically and directly for success. And the very next verse records the response: blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. The blessing is the answer to the prayer for success. You pray for success. God responds with blessing. And blessing produces everything that genuine success requires. Romans 8:37 closes with the declaration that should be on the lips of every believer who begins their day in prayer: we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Not conquerors who barely won. More than. The victory was more complete than the battle required. That is the level of success available to the believer who walks in Christ.
Prayer Points 25 to 30
25. Lord, grant me success today according to Psalm 118:25! I am asking specifically and boldly. Not vaguely. Not tentatively. Specifically: grant me success today in my work, in my relationships, in my finances and in every goal I am pursuing for Your glory. Let the blessing of Psalm 118:26 be the answer to this specific prayer, in Jesus’ name!
26. I speak the blessing of Numbers 6:24 to 26 over every dimension of my success today: the Lord bless me and keep me in my business dealings! The Lord make His face shine upon me and be gracious to me in every interaction! The Lord turn His face toward me and give me peace in every negotiation and every outcome! In Jesus’ name!
27. I declare: I am more than a conqueror today through Him who loved me according to Romans 8:37! Every challenge to my success, every obstacle in my path and every competitor in my field, I face them all as more than a conqueror. The victory is not in question. The margin of victory is the only variable and it is decided by the God who loved me, in Jesus’ name!
28. Father, let the success I experience today be undeniably God-sourced. Let it be the kind of success that prompts people to ask: how did you do that? And let my honest answer always be: God did it. Let every success of this day point people toward You rather than toward my natural ability, in Jesus’ name!
29. I declare that the favour of God is not a rare visitation in my life. It is a daily reality. Psalm 5:12 says You surround the righteous with favour as with a shield. Surround means it is always there, in every direction, covering every angle. I walk into this day surrounded, in Jesus’ name!
30. Father, I seal this morning prayer for success and favour with the declaration of every person who has ever experienced Your hand at work in their life: the Lord is with me! He is with me in the early hours of this morning. He is with me in the first meeting of this day. He is with me at the end of the day when I count the outcomes. The Lord is with me and wherever the Lord is, success follows. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. AMEN!
🔥 MORNING DECLARATION FOR SUCCESS AND FAVOUR SPEAK THIS EVERY MORNING BEFORE YOU BEGIN YOUR DAY The Lord is with me today and wherever the Lord is, success follows! Favour surrounds me like a shield. The blessing of God is overtaking me from behind and going before me ahead. Everything I put my hands to today is established by God. Every door I approach today is opened by divine favour. Every person I interact with today is predisposed toward me with grace they cannot explain. I am not chasing success. Success is finding me. I am not pursuing favour. Favour is surrounding me. This is the day the Lord has made and it is loaded with His blessing. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen!
– FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS –
Is it selfish to pray for personal success and favour? Praying for success and favour is not selfish when it is rooted in the right motivation. The prosperity of God’s people was always intended to serve purposes beyond personal comfort. Deuteronomy 8:18 says God gives you the ability to produce wealth to confirm His covenant. Abraham was blessed to be a blessing to all peoples (Genesis 12:2). Joseph’s success fed an entire region through famine. Daniel’s favour gave him influence that protected God’s people in Babylon. When you pray for success and favour with the intention of honouring God, blessing others and fulfilling your God-given assignment, you are praying in alignment with God’s own covenant purpose for blessing His people. I have been praying for success for a long time with no visible results. What am I doing wrong? Several possibilities deserve honest examination. First, timing: God’s success often arrives on a schedule that does not match ours. Habakkuk 2:3 says the vision has its appointed time; it will not prove false. Though it tarries, wait for it. Second, foundation: Matthew 6:33 says seek first the kingdom and the rest is added. Is the kingdom genuinely first in your daily priorities? Third, alignment: is the success you are praying for aligned with what God has actually assigned to your life? Fourth, diligence: Proverbs 10:4 says lazy hands make for poverty but diligent hands bring wealth. Prayer multiplies diligence. It does not substitute for it. What is the difference between success and worldly ambition? The distinction lies in three areas: source, purpose and fruit. Worldly ambition is sourced in pride, comparison and the desire for human recognition. Success sought through God is sourced in calling, obedience and the desire to fulfil divine purpose. Worldly ambition serves the self. God-given success serves others and the Kingdom. And the fruit is different: worldly success often produces pride, isolation and spiritual emptiness (Ecclesiastes 2:11). Success produced by God’s favour produces gratitude, generosity and an overflow that blesses everyone connected to the person who received it. Can I pray for favour with a specific person at work or in business? Yes. This is precisely the kind of specific prayer that produces specific testimonies. Daniel 1:9 records that God caused the official to show favour to Daniel. God moved on a specific person’s heart to show favour to a specific person. When you name the specific supervisor, the specific client or the specific decision-maker in your morning prayer and ask God to cause them to show you favour, you are praying a Daniel 1:9 prayer. Proverbs 21:1 says the king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord; like rivers of water He turns it wherever He wishes. How long should I persist in praying for a specific success before I give up? Luke 18:1 to 8 is Jesus’ direct answer to this question: He told them a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. The instruction is not to pray until you feel like stopping. The instruction is to always pray and not give up. Continue praying until either the answer arrives or until God gives you a clear peace and redirection that indicates He is taking you in a different direction. Silence from heaven is not rejection. It is often preparation. Keep praying.
Your Success Is Not Accidental. It Is Covenantal.
Genesis 39:23 describes Joseph’s success with a phrase that should define every believer’s understanding of their own potential: the Lord was with Joseph and gave him success in whatever he did. Whatever he did. The success was not selective based on the favourableness of the circumstances. The prison was not a good environment for success by any human measure. But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison as much as He was with Joseph in the palace. And wherever the Lord was, success followed.
The favour of God that produced Joseph’s success is available to you today. Not a modified version of it. Not a smaller version of it for less significant people. The same favour. The same Presence. The same God. Psalm 5:12 does not say God surrounds special believers with favour. It says He surrounds the righteous with His favour as with a shield. If you are walking with God, the favour is already surrounding you. These morning prayers are not generating something new. They are your daily declaration that you are aware of, grateful for and actively depending on the favour that is already covering you.
Go into your day today as someone who has been favoured before the day began. Walk through every door with the confidence of a person who knows that the Lord is with them. And at the end of this day, count the testimonies of favour that appeared in ordinary moments. You will find more of them than you expected.
