The Door You Didn’t Ask For
You weren’t looking for this. It just showed up, an opportunity you hadn’t planned for, a conversation you didn’t initiate, a possibility that opened without you pushing for it at all.
Part of you is suspicious of it simply because you didn’t engineer it yourself.
“I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.” – Revelation 3:8 (NIV)
The One Point:
This word came to a church with little strength, not a thriving, self-sufficient one. The open door wasn’t a reward for having it all together, it was God’s initiative, placed in front of people who hadn’t manufactured it themselves. Some doors close no matter how hard you push. Others open without you forcing anything at all, and those are worth paying attention to. You don’t have to distrust a good opportunity just because you didn’t create the conditions for it yourself. Sometimes the clearest sign of God’s hand is a door you didn’t have to kick down.
Thought to Ponder:
Is there a door open in front of you right now that you’ve been hesitant to walk through simply because you didn’t plan for it?
Prayer:
Father, thank You for doors I didn’t have to force open myself.
Give me discernment to recognize Your hand in this.
Help me walk through what You’ve placed before me. Amen.
Today’s Declaration:
“I can trust the doors God opens, even the ones I didn’t ask for.”
Today’s Step:
Identify one unexpected opportunity currently in front of you, and take one concrete step toward it today instead of talking yourself out of it.
