Carrying Each Other’s Burdens

You saw the message and you almost scrolled past it. Not out of cruelty, just exhaustion, you’ve got your own weight to carry today, and stopping to help with someone else’s felt like more than you had room for.

“Carry each other’s burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.” -Galatians 6:2 (NIV)

The One Point:
Paul doesn’t say carry your own burden well and leave others to manage theirs. He describes something communal, burdens meant to be shared, not carried in isolation by each person alone. This isn’t about being endlessly available for everyone at all times, that’s not sustainable and it’s not what the verse asks. It’s about noticing when someone nearby is genuinely struggling under something too heavy to carry alone, and being willing to actually help lift it, even a little, even briefly. Faith was never designed to be a solo weight-bearing exercise, for you or for the person you almost scrolled past.

Thought to Ponder:
Who is currently carrying something heavy near you, that you’ve been too tired or too busy to actually help with?

Prayer:
Father, forgive me for scrolling past burdens I could have helped carry.
Give me eyes to see who’s struggling nearby.
Help me carry what I can, without pretending I can carry everything. Amen.

Today’s Declaration:
“I don’t carry my burdens alone, and I won’t let others carry theirs alone either.”

Today’s Step:
Reach out to the specific person who came to mind while reading this, and ask them plainly how they’re actually doing, then listen.
