God’s Timing Isn’t Wasted Time
Four hundred years passed between the last recorded prophetic word and the moment Jesus was born. Four centuries of apparent silence, empires rising and falling, generations living and dying without hearing from God the way their ancestors had.
Then, at exactly the right moment, everything converged.
“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.” — Galatians 4:4 (NIV)
The One Point:
Paul doesn’t describe God rushing to catch up after centuries of delay. He describes fullness, a set time that had fully come, meaning the silence wasn’t wasted time at all, it was preparation happening on a timeline you couldn’t see from the inside of it. Whatever season of apparent delay you’re in right now, the job opening that hasn’t materialized, the healing that hasn’t finished, the relationship that hasn’t clarified, isn’t necessarily God being late. It might be God arranging things you have no way of seeing yet. Delay and absence are not the same thing.
Thought to Ponder:
What area of your life have you labeled as delayed, that might actually be in the process of becoming fully ready?
Prayer:
Father, I don’t always understand Your timing, but I trust it’s not wasted.
Help me stop mistaking Your preparation for Your absence.
Let me trust the fullness You’re working toward, even now. Amen.
Today’s Declaration:
“God’s timing is not wasted time, even when I can’t see what He’s preparing.”
Today’s Step:
Write down one thing you’ve been calling “delayed,” and beside it write, “being prepared,” as a more honest description of what might actually be happening.
Further Study:
Ecclesiastes 3:11 (He has made everything beautiful in its time)
Habakkuk 2:3 (Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come)
